CORE OF KNOWLEDGE
A 'fundamental' course
The 'Core of Knowledge' course discusses the basics of laser/IPL technologies and the various terms and expressions you must know before treating. This course includes:
What is a laser/IPL?
What is wavelength, energy, fluence, power, spot size etc?
What is absorption and scattering and why are they important?
An introduction to Selective Photothermolysis
Laser Classifications
Risk Analysis in Laser Clinics
Quality Assurance
Relevant Legislation in the UK
Laser/IPL Safety issues
This course usually takes between three and four hours to deliver. Insurance companies require that the Core of Knowledge is delivered by a competent, fully qualified person with many years' experience in laser safety and applications. The prefer experts such as Laser Protection Advisers (LPA).
